The essential oil cinnamon bark Ceylon organic 30% (bot. Cinnamomum zeylanicum) has a sweet-tart, spicy fragrance and is a heart note. The fragrance theme is warming, stimulating and inspiring.
The "Ceylon" cinnamon bark comes from the cinnamon tree, a tropical evergreen tree native to Sri Lanka, southern India and Madagascar. The cinnamon tree can grow up to 15 meters high and is usually pruned in cultivation to keep it low and shrubby and to encourage the growth of further shoots. The harvested pieces of bark are wrapped in mats and fermented to develop an intense aroma. Cinnamon is used as a spice, for food flavoring and as an essential oil. The shavings from the production of cinnamon bark rolls and the spice production of genuine Ceylon cinnamon are processed into essential oil by steam distillation.
