Blood orange is a citrus fruit with deep red flesh and reddish peel, which is cultivated in the Mediterranean region. Orange trees are evergreen and grow up to 10 meters high, they are divided into four categories: blond, navel, bitter and the acid-free oranges. From the somewhat smaller blood oranges, a sought-after, vitamin-rich, acidic-harsh fruit juice is obtained.
