This is one of the most famous types of pottery - it dates back to the 15th-17th centuries and describes beautiful glazed pottery. It is traditionally made by hand and in old kilns in Göreme. At that time tiles were formed from it and used as cladding for mosques and buildings. A famous landmark is the Sultan Ahmed Mosque or also called the "blue mosque".
